45Drives today announced the return of its Creator Summit, the fourth annual gathering of technology creators, infrastructure professionals, developers, engineers, and open-source advocates. The event will take place October 20-22, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the Skyline Center and other venues, as detailed in the official press release.
What began in 2023 as a small cohort has evolved into a forum where influential voices in open-source computing, content creation, homelab communities, and enterprise infrastructure share ideas and challenge conventional thinking. At a time when many industry events have become transactional, Creator Summit offers direct access to engineers, creators, and industry leaders building systems that power modern organizations. Previous Summits have featured respected figures like Jeff Geerling, Wendell Wilson, Tom Lawrence, Techno Tim, Craft Computing, Raid Owl, Jay LaCroix, and deadmau5.
This year introduces two dedicated programming tracks. The Enterprise Track will focus on on-premises artificial intelligence, enterprise storage, cybersecurity, open-source infrastructure, virtualization, data sovereignty, and high-performance computing. Designed for IT leaders, systems administrators, and technical decision-makers, sessions will explore deploying and managing modern infrastructure while controlling data, security, performance, and cost. The Creative Track will examine the future of digital creation, including local compute, creator-owned infrastructure, open platforms, and emerging technologies transforming content production, distribution, and monetization. This track targets creators, streamers, filmmakers, editors, and digital artists.
A central theme across both tracks is the growing impact of on-premises AI, data sovereignty, and private AI deployments. Attendees will gain insights into how organizations and creators leverage local AI to improve operations, accelerate innovation, and maintain data control. Discussions will address building AI systems closer to their data, reflecting a shift toward self-hosted and enterprise-controlled infrastructure.
In addition to technical sessions, the Summit includes product workshops, facility tours, networking events, community-led discussions, creator meetups, and live demonstrations.
