Aclarion Adds First Private Practice Site to CLARITY Trial to Boost Enrollment

Aclarion, Inc. (Nasdaq: ACON, ACONW), a healthcare technology company using biomarkers and augmented intelligence to identify the source of chronic low back pain, announced the addition of Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery as a clinical site in its CLARITY (Chronic Low bAck pain Randomized Independent Trial studY) trial. This private practice, based in Beverly Hills, is recognized for expertise in complex spinal procedures and high surgical volume. The inclusion marks a shift toward integrating Nociscan into real-world clinical workflows beyond academic centers.

The CLARITY trial is a prospective, randomized, multi-center study evaluating Nociscan in 300 patients undergoing surgical treatment (fusion or total disc replacement) for discogenic low back pain. The primary endpoint is change in back pain measured on a 100mm VAS at 12 months, with secondary endpoints including functional outcomes. Aclarion anticipates an initial internal data readout and public disclosure of early interim results in Q4 2026.

Dr. Todd Lanman, neurosurgeon and founder of Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery, emphasized the importance of precise diagnosis: “Nociscan introduces a new layer of clarity by leveraging MR Spectroscopy to identify pain-generating discs in ways that standard MRI cannot. This ability to match the right procedure to the right patient is what moves the field forward.” Dr. Lanman brings over 25 years of experience and a personal perspective as a spine surgery patient.

Ryan Bond, Chief Strategy Officer of Aclarion, highlighted the strategic value: “Private practice spine surgeons treat the majority of chronic low back pain patients. The inclusion of Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery reflects the growing demand for precise, data-driven tools in everyday clinical practice.” The addition is expected to accelerate enrollment in the CLARITY trial, which aims to generate high-quality evidence for Nociscan.

Chronic low back pain affects approximately 266 million people worldwide. Nociscan is the first evidence-supported SaaS platform to noninvasively distinguish painful from nonpainful discs using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. It objectively quantifies chemical biomarkers associated with disc pain. When all Nociscan-positive discs are treated, the technology demonstrates a 97% surgical success rate.
