ams OSRAM Extends CEO Aldo Kamper's Contract Through 2031

The Supervisory Board of ams-OSRAM AG has approved a new contract for Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper, extending his tenure through September 30, 2031. The reappointment, effective October 1, 2026, comes as the company solidifies its position in the digital photonics market. Kamper, who has led ams OSRAM since April 2023, previously was set to leave office on March 31, 2027.

Dr. Margarete Haase, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, credited Kamper with strategically realigning the company and laying the groundwork for sustainable growth. "Under his leadership, key milestones have been achieved - from the successful implementation of the 'Re-establish the Base' efficiency program to the strengthening of the financial base and the clear positioning of amsOSRAM in the attractive digital photonics field," she said. The board's decision reaffirms its full confidence in Kamper and anticipates continued collaboration.

Kamper expressed gratitude and pride in the team's accomplishments. "Together, we have established the basis for the next growth phase as a focused technology company. I look forward to continuing along this path with determination and further developing amsOSRAM as the leading company in the fast-growing field of digital photonics," he said.

Since becoming CEO, Kamper launched the "Re-establish the Base" program to sharpen the portfolio and boost profitability. He streamlined group structures, clarified business unit responsibilities, and took significant steps to strengthen the financial base while reducing debt. The sale of the non-optical sensing business was completed on July 1, 2026, creating a sound financial foundation for profitable growth in the optical core business and future areas like augmented reality and data communication.

Kamper's career at OSRAM began in 1994 in Regensburg, where he held various leadership roles in LED and specialty lighting across Europe and the United States. In 2010, he became CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit, pioneering microLED technology, dynamic front-end lighting, and high-performance LED roadmaps, while expanding the global manufacturing footprint. In 2018, he joined Leoni AG as CEO before returning to ams OSRAM in 2023.

The extension comes as ams OSRAM, with about 18,500 employees, reported EUR 3.3 billion in revenues for 2025. The company focuses on digital photonics, serving markets from automotive to medical and consumer electronics. More information is available at ams-osram.com.
