Andina Copper Reports Near-Surface Porphyry Copper-Molybdenum Mineralization at Cobrasco Project

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has reported outstanding drill intercepts from its Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia, confirming the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Central Cu-Mo porphyry system. Drillhole CDH008, completed to a depth of 652.25m, returned 272 meters grading 0.50% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 1.92 g/t silver starting from 52 meters downhole, including a higher-grade interval of 152 meters at 0.67% copper, 68 ppm molybdenum, and 1.90 g/t silver from 54 meters.

The company is systematically advancing a wide-spaced scout drilling program to test the limits of the Cobrasco system. Two additional drillholes, CDH009 (completed) and CDH010 (in progress), have been drilled from the same platform to test northwest and west-southwest extensions, with assays pending. Visual logging indicates sulphide mineralization consistent with the broader Cobrasco Central system in both holes.

The Cobrasco mineralized footprint now extends approximately 1,100 meters along strike and 550 meters laterally, with mineralization remaining open in all directions. Surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest mineralization continues to the north and northwest, with further expansion potential toward the northwest and west-southwest expected from pending results.

Drillhole CDH008 was designed to test the northern continuity of the shallow mineralized zone, intersecting a leached cap with intense supergene alteration over intermineral rhyolite porphyry. Beneath the supergene-leached zone, a 30-meter interval containing chalcocite coating hypogene sulphides suggests incipient secondary copper enrichment. The strongest mineralization is associated with potassic and sericite-altered magmatic-hydrothermal breccias spatially related to intermineral rhyolite porphyry intrusions, where chalcopyrite occurs as matrix infill and as thin cross-cutting veinlets. Bornite was locally observed, potentially indicating a later higher-sulphidation mineralizing event.
