Andina Copper Reports Outstanding Drill Intercepts from Second Hole at Cobrasco Project

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) reported outstanding drill intercepts from the second hole of its maiden diamond drilling program at the Cobrasco copper-molybdenum project in Choco, Colombia. Following high-grade intersections in drillhole CDH003 (352m @ 0.68% Cu, 112 ppm Mo; including 118m @ 1.17% Cu, 193 ppm Mo), results from CDH004 have returned further significant intercepts, reinforcing the potential for a large-scale porphyry deposit.

CDH004, completed to a depth of 900.25m, intersected multiple phases of felsic porphyries and magmatic-hydrothermal breccias. The interval from 579 to 686m returned an average grade of 0.75% Cu, with a peak 2m value of 1.70% Cu, associated with intensely fractured breccias. Sporadic gold mineralization up to 1.06 g/t suggests a possible gold-rich intrusive phase within the system. The company noted that strong copper mineralization was also logged in drillhole CDH005, designed to expand the mineralized footprint to the southwest, with assays pending.

President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen commented: “Following recent results from CDH003, the wide intercepts of high-grade copper mineralization reported in CDH004 further validate the size, scale and grade of the Cobrasco system. We see the potential for a globally significant deposit(s) at Cobrasco, and mobilization of a second drill rig to expedite rapid exploration and evaluation is planned.” Step-out drillhole CDH006 is currently underway, targeting potential large extensions of the system.

The Cobrasco project is located in the Choco region of Colombia, along the Andean porphyry belt. Andina Copper holds two significant discoveries in Argentina and Colombia, and a copper-gold target in Chile. The company is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, Frankfurt, and OTC markets. All scientific and technical information has been verified by Francisco Montes, a qualified person under NI 43-101.

Detailed QAQC procedures were followed, with core samples sent to ALS laboratories in Medellin and Lima for analysis. Mineralized intercepts for CDH004 were calculated using a 0.2% Cu cut-off with maximum dilution of 20m. The company’s corporate presentation is available at Andina Copper Corporate Presentation.
