Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced the results of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on January 29, 2026, where all resolutions were approved, including the appointment of Dr. David Johnson to the Board of Directors. A total of 96,855,431 common shares, representing approximately 47.78% of the company's outstanding shares, were voted. Shareholders voted in favor of reappointing Davidson & Company LLP as auditors, setting the number of directors at six, electing six nominees including Dr. David Johnson, approving the rolling stock option plan, and approving the sale of the company's 40% participating interest in the Evesham Macklin oil and gas lands in Saskatchewan to an arm's length party for a purchase price of $4,800,000. CEO Delayne Weeks commented, "On behalf of the Company, I would like to thank shareholders for their participation and continuing support. We welcome Dr. Johnson to the Board." Dr. David Johnson brings over 40 years of global exploration and production experience, having worked for Shell, ExxonMobil, Husky Energy, and others. He has led bid-round acquisitions of more than 20 Production Sharing Agreements and exploration licenses, with significant discoveries in the South China Sea and Canadian frontiers. He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of Calgary and a PhD in Geological Oceanography from Dalhousie University.
The company also acknowledged the retirement of long-time directors Steve Cochrane and Scott Smith, thanking them for their contributions. Angkor Resources is shifting focus to its Cambodian onshore Block VIII project, where its subsidiary EnerCam Resources holds an oil and gas license covering approximately 4,095 square kilometres. Having completed seismic surveys in 2025, the company aims to identify drill targets and advance to drilling Cambodia's first onshore exploratory wells.
