The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a central hub in the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has announced the appointment of new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards. Effective July 1, 2026, these leaders will support the organization's efforts to make food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable across its service area, where over 900,000 people are projected to be food insecure.
Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the new members, stating, "We are honored to welcome our new Board members, who bring their professional expertise and dedication to our community, to the Food Bank. The Food Bank has added four new Governing Board members for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. The new members include Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber; Noel Baber, VP & CFO at Kaiser Permanente Georgia; and Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal at VYD and Associates. Their diverse expertise in public health, business strategy, finance, and consulting is expected to strengthen the Food Bank's operational and strategic capabilities.
In addition, Christine Connor, Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group, has been elected as the new Advisory Board Vice Chair. She is joined by two new Advisory Board members: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO of Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South. These appointments reflect the Food Bank's commitment to engaging community leaders who can provide guidance and foster partnerships to expand its impact.
The announcement comes at a critical time, as food insecurity remains a pressing issue in the region. The Food Bank's work is vital to ensuring that families, children, and seniors have access to nutritious meals. Through partnerships with more than 700 community-based nonprofit organizations across 29 counties, the Food Bank distributed its one billionth meal in 2023, a milestone that underscores its role as a critical part of the food ecosystem.
The new board members will play a key role in supporting the Food Bank's mission to end hunger with the food, people, and big ideas needed to ensure neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Their leadership comes as the organization continues to adapt to the evolving needs of the community, particularly in the wake of economic challenges that have heightened food insecurity.
