BHS, Inc. Launches Modular Order Picker Attachments to Enhance Warehouse Safety and Productivity

BHS, Inc., a St. Louis-based manufacturer of custom material handling equipment, has announced a new line of modular attachments for order picker trucks. The attachments, designed to enhance safety and productivity in narrow-aisle warehouses, include four product series: Modular Order Picker Carts, Modular Order Picker Platforms, Order Picker Furniture Carts, and Order Picker Furniture Platforms. These solutions feature bolt-on components that allow users to adjust shelf spacing, remove shelves, or add rails and guarding to create the ideal work platform.

According to Trent Boothe, Technical Sales Manager at BHS, the growth of narrow-aisle racking has increased reliance on order picker trucks. "Our goal is to make those trucks safer, more productive, and flexible enough to handle anything," Boothe said. The attachments are custom-sized to eliminate gaps or offsets between the platform and the truck's operator deck, reducing tripping hazards—a common safety risk with traditional attachments.

The key advantage of the modular design is its flexibility. Users can quickly reconfigure the attachments using standard workplace tools, avoiding the delays associated with custom-made equipment. "We specialize in designing custom equipment, but it takes time to design something from scratch," Boothe explained. "Our modular solutions ship a lot faster than an all-original product. They give you custom performance without custom lead times."

The Modular Order Picker Carts are equipped with heavy-duty casters, enabling them to double as pushcarts for ground-level inventory management. The Modular Order Picker Platforms omit casters, functioning solely as truck attachments. The Order Picker Furniture Carts and Platforms are sized for the longer forks of furniture order picker trucks, expanding their utility for specialized tasks.

These innovations come as warehouses increasingly adopt narrow-aisle configurations to maximize storage density. By offering modular components, BHS aims to provide a versatile solution that adapts to varying operational needs without the expense and wait of fully custom designs. The attachments are available now exclusively from BHS, Inc. For more information, visit https://www.bhs1.com.
