BOXABL Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL), a factory-built construction company known for its foldable Casita housing units, has introduced a new concept that could extend its modular manufacturing capabilities into the rapidly expanding data center sector. The company unveiled its Server Pod concept, a design study for modular, factory-assembled enclosures intended to house AI and cloud computing infrastructure. This move comes as the data center industry faces unprecedented demand driven by artificial intelligence and cloud services, along with challenges related to speed, cost, and labor.
The Server Pod concept is not yet in production; BOXABL emphasized that it is a concept only and is not currently being manufactured. The initiative is designed to demonstrate BOXABL's factory capabilities and invite data center developers, operators, and equipment vendors to pursue custom design and manufacturing partnerships. The proposed configurations range from a 10-foot Server Pod envisioned at a 0.5 petaflop tier to the 2,500-square-foot Server Tron envisioned at 16 petaflop operations per second. Actual configurations, engineering, cooling approaches, and equipment would be determined in collaboration with customers.
BOXABL believes that factory-built, repeatable structures could help address the pressing issues facing the data center industry. According to JLL’s 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, the sector is expected to grow at a 14% compound annual growth rate through 2030, with roughly 100 GW of new capacity coming online from 2026 through 2030 and up to $3 trillion in total investment potentially required. This projection underscores the immense opportunity for innovative construction methods that can accelerate deployment and reduce costs.
BOXABL is seeking engagement with data center developers, hyperscalers, colocation providers, equipment manufacturers, and other partners interested in contracting the company to design and manufacture custom modular structures. However, the company noted that there is no assurance that any agreement will be reached or that any Server Pod or similar product will be built. This cautious approach reflects the early-stage nature of the concept and the need for market validation.
BOXABL, headquartered in North Las Vegas, has raised over $230 million from more than 50,000 investors since its inception in 2017. The company’s flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in under an hour. BOXABL also offers the smaller 120-square-foot Baby Box and is developing stackable and connectable modules for townhomes, multifamily units, and larger single-family homes. The company began trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol “BXBL” on July 20, 2026, following its business combination with FG Merger II Corp.
This foray into data center infrastructure represents a significant diversification for BOXABL, which has primarily focused on affordable housing. By leveraging its expertise in factory-built construction, the company aims to apply the same principles of speed, efficiency, and scalability to the data center market. If successful, this could open a new revenue stream and position BOXABL as a key player in the build-out of AI and cloud computing infrastructure. The company’s announcement has generated interest from potential partners, but the path from concept to commercialization remains uncertain.
