CAHEC Appoints Corine Sheridan to Board of Directors

CAHEC, a community development organization focused on affordable housing and supportive services, has announced the appointment of Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than four decades of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, a move that bolsters CAHEC's strategic direction as it continues to expand its impact across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a distinguished career dedicated to increasing access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy. Her role involved overseeing complex transactions and collaborating with tax credit investors to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.

Prior to Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. There, she developed and executed the firm's nationwide origination strategy, directing capital to communities with critical housing needs. In 2024, she co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm providing financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this venture, she continues to advise mission-driven organizations on strategic guidance and operational insight.

Sheridan's nonprofit leadership includes board service with the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia. These roles highlight her commitment to addressing housing instability and supporting organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, said, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board."

CAHEC engages in diverse product areas including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits. The organization also offers loan programs, wellness and education initiatives for residents, affordable housing development, and property management services.
