Charbone Corporation, a vertically integrated industrial gases company, announced preliminary gas income for the third quarter of 2026 of approximately $0.55 million, a 21% increase from $0.46 million in the prior quarter. The growth reflects the company's expanding hydrogen production and regional supply hubs for industrial gases, according to the announcement released via NEWMEDIAWIRE.
The significance of the announcement lies in the company's rapid commercial scale-up. As of September 30, 2026, Charbone reported 28 active customers, up from just 3 at the start of the year. It now operates 11 trailers for all gases, compared to 2 previously, and has four multi-year supply agreements, double the number from early 2026. Customer deliveries have increased to approximately 12 per month from about 2, and the company now runs four regional supply hubs—in Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New York State—up from two. The workforce has grown to 15 employees from 9.
These metrics indicate that Charbone is successfully transitioning from a development-stage company to a revenue-generating industrial gas supplier. The company anticipates sales growth across multiple gases in both U.S. and Canadian markets, including clean ultra-high purity (UHP) hydrogen from its Sorel-Tracy Phase 1A plant, as well as UHP helium and UHP oxygen sourced through partners. Demand remained strong throughout the quarter, which is expected to result in increased recurring revenues and new customers.
Operationally, Charbone's Sorel-Tracy Phase 1A facility is producing UHP hydrogen at a 24/7 operational capacity, with on-site quality control chromatographs and a dedicated lab technician ensuring moisture is consistently maintained below 2 ppm. Phase 1B is on track for a Fall 2026 launch, with electrolyzer installation underway and civil work complete. Additionally, the company has brought cylinder filling in-house at Sorel-Tracy, which is expected to support margin improvement and enhance control over product quality and delivery timelines.
For the nine-month period ending September 30, 2026, gas income is expected to total $1.2 million, compared to nil for the same period in 2025. Operating expenses in Q3 2026 are expected to remain comparable to Q2 2026, as the company continues to internalize key steps. "We have delivered the strongest quarter to date with an incredible team, which underscores our unwavering focus on long-term value creation and growth," said Benoit Veilleux, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Charbone.
