LOS ANGELES, CA — Club Honduras International hosted its inaugural event outside of Honduras on July 12, 2026, at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood. The gathering focused on celebrating Honduran Indigenous women, descendants of the Mayans and other native peoples, through traditional music, dance, and a theatrical presentation highlighting their lives, traditions, and resilience.
Attendees viewed displays of traditional work tools and trade items such as cacao and coffee beans. The event also featured an awards ceremony recognizing Indigenous women and individuals who have contributed to preserving and promoting Honduras' Indigenous cultures. The Consulate of Honduras in Los Angeles received a Commendation for supporting the Honduran community and fostering cultural awareness.
Additionally, an award was presented to humanitarian and author L. Ron Hubbard for his book The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious guide promoting values like respect, honesty, and compassion, which organizers noted has been widely shared in Hispanic communities globally.
