FROSTBURG, MD – Clym Environmental Services, LLC celebrated the official opening of its new processing facility in Frostburg, Maryland, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 27, 2026. The event drew more than 100 attendees, including elected officials, industry leaders, and community partners, marking a milestone in the company's expansion and commitment to sustainable waste management.
The ceremony featured a VIP tour of the facility, information stations on ozone treatment technology, and a display by Energy Select, the solar company that installed the facility's solar system. Attendees also learned about the facility's soon-to-be-completed interior through a rendering. Juli McCoy, President & CEO of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, and Richard Police, Director of Business Development at Clym, opened the program. Remarks were given by Charles Watts, President of Clym Environmental; Secretary Harry Coker of the Maryland Department of Commerce; Bill Atkinson, Allegany County Commissioner; Jeff Barclay, Director of Allegany County Economic Development; and Kelly Schulz, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council.
McCoy emphasized the facility's role in the community, stating, "Today we celebrate the future. Clym Environmental will create living-wage jobs, and its operations, using technology and environmental science, make its proximity to Frostburg State University a perfect fit for the Frostburg Business Park and Allegany County." The facility also received a certificate of congressional recognition presented on behalf of Congresswoman April McClain Delaney. Kendall Abruzzese, Western Maryland Outreach Coordinator, delivered the certificate, praising Clym's "pioneering work in environmentally friendly and innovative waste management biotechnology."
The Frostburg facility will utilize Clym's proprietary ozone treatment technology to process biohazardous material, converting it into safe, reusable materials. This technology generates ozone from ambient air and is powered by solar energy, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional thermal treatment methods. The facility's development follows Clym's recognition as the Life Sciences Innovation of the Year winner at the Maryland Tech Council's 2026 ICON Awards.
