Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced it will tokenize and monetize Available Infrastructure’s Project Qestrel, a nationwide network of cybersecure edge data centers deploying across the United States, using its Information Data Exchange platform and patented tokenization technology. The companies expect the Project Qestrel token ($QEST) program to represent more than $1 billion in tokenized value upon full deployment, providing access and usage rights across the edge AI infrastructure network while supporting secondary market trading. Initial token offerings are targeted for the third quarter of 2026.
Project Qestrel is expected to deploy 1,000 cybersecure edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities and more than 30 states as part of an approximately $5 billion buildout. Datavault AI said the initiative expands its existing relationship with Available Infrastructure and will generate revenue through an equal-sharing arrangement, with Datavault AI providing tokenization, clearing, valuation and exchange services. The companies believe the program represents the industry’s first large-scale tokenization of a live-deploying nationwide edge AI infrastructure network, creating a new digital asset class tied to AI compute capacity.
The tokenization of physical infrastructure marks a significant shift in how AI compute resources are accessed and traded. By converting rights to edge data center capacity into digital tokens, Datavault AI aims to democratize access to high-performance computing, enabling smaller players to participate in AI development without massive capital outlays. This model could also provide liquidity for infrastructure investors, as tokens can be traded on secondary markets, potentially transforming traditional real asset investment.
Datavault AI’s technology underpins this initiative. Its Information Data Exchange platform securely attaches physical assets to immutable metadata, enabling digital twins and licensing. The company’s data science division leverages Web 3.0 and high-performance computing for experiential data perception, valuation and secure monetization. The tokenization process involves clearing and valuation services, which Datavault AI will provide as part of the revenue-sharing agreement.
The announcement comes amid growing demand for edge AI infrastructure, as enterprises seek low-latency computing for applications like autonomous vehicles, smart cities and industrial IoT. By tokenizing access to these data centers, Datavault AI and Available Infrastructure are creating a novel asset class that could attract a broader range of investors, from institutional funds to retail participants. The success of Project Qestrel could set a precedent for other infrastructure projects, potentially leading to a new era of asset tokenization in the AI sector.
