The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announced the return of DesignInspire from 3 to 6 December 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The opening day features an exclusive VIP preview, followed by free admission for industry professionals and the public from 4 to 6 December. This year's theme, "Where Connections Spark Inspiration," brings together over 250 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a centre for international creative collaboration.
Maison&Objet, the Strategic Partner of the exhibition, returns under the identity Maison&Objet Intérieurs Hong Kong 2025, with an expanded exhibition area. The event features three core sections: Design Factory, Design Showcase, and Le Club. Design Factory focuses on sustainability and material innovation, featuring projects by Belgian designer Lionel Jadot and Thai bamboo artist Korakot Aromdee. Design Showcase extends to seven design capitals, highlighting creators such as French designer Hubert Le Gall and Hong Kong architect Steve Leung. For more details, visit the DesignInspire website.
Renowned international designer Alan Chan and emerging artist Chilai Howard have designed two cross-cultural collaborative spaces: BOTTEGA HONG KONG and TINY STUDIO. BOTTEGA HONG KONG draws inspiration from Italian alimentari and Hong Kong's local "si dor" shops, featuring 15 brands from both regions. A highlight is a collaboration between Italy's Francesco Maglia and Hong Kong's Leung So Kee on a bespoke umbrella. TINY STUDIO brings together 12 design collectives, offering interactive experiences in digital art, music, and sculpture. These pavilions exemplify the fusion of Hong Kong and Italian creativity.
DesignInspire also hosts global pavilions from the Chinese Mainland, Czechia, Macao, and Taiwan. The Czech Pavilion showcases Bohemian glass traditions, while the SHOP Zone offers curated design pieces for purchase. Hong Kong fragrance brand Floriography joins as the official "Scent Partner," adding an olfactory dimension. Local institutions like the Hong Kong Design Institute and Hong Kong Design Centre present student works and DFA Design for Asia Award-winning pieces. Additionally, GERI, an intelligent textile technology company, debuts smart handbags in collaboration with graphic design master Kan Tai-keung.
The InnoTalks series features 14 sessions on topics such as creative collectibles, AI applications, and inclusive design, with internationally renowned speakers. Concurrent events include the Business of IP Asia Forum, Entrepreneur Day, and Start-up Express: International Edition 2025, providing business networking and matching opportunities. HKTDC Assistant Executive Director Anna Cheung stated, "DesignInspire drives the growth of our creative industries and strengthens connections between local designers and the global community." The event is co-organised by the Hong Kong Design Centre and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA).
