Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show Translates Urban Energy into Spring/Summer 2027 Collections

The Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show, held last night as part of CENTRESTAGE, showcased the Spring/Summer 2027 collections of four prominent local brands: 112 mountainyam, ANGUS TSUI, ARTY:ACTIVE, and Z I D I. Themed "Hong Kong Dopamine," the designers drew inspiration from the city's lights and shadows, streets, architecture, cultural memories, and daily flow, translating Hong Kong's unique pulse into a fashion language. Each collection interpreted dopamine from a distinct perspective—joy, dark humor, dynamics, or lightness of defiance—delivering a fashion experience brimming with sensory stimulation and urban energy.

The show received enthusiastic acclaim from industry professionals, celebrities, and fashion enthusiasts, including luminaries such as Kay Tse, Kevin Chu, Tony Wu, Locker Lam, and Jessica Chan. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, CENTRESTAGE is in full swing at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running until 5 September.

Concurrently, the 45th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the 14th Salon de TIME are also being held at the same venue. All three events will run until 5 September, with CENTRESTAGE and Salon de TIME open to both trade buyers and the general public, while the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair is open exclusively to trade visitors.

This year's theme reflects a broader trend in fashion where designers are increasingly drawing from urban environments to create collections that resonate emotionally with consumers. By channeling the city's energetic vibe, these brands are not just presenting clothes but also telling a story about Hong Kong's identity and its dynamic cultural landscape. This approach is significant because it positions Hong Kong as a creative hub with a distinct voice in the global fashion arena, reinforcing the region's commitment to nurturing design talent and promoting its fashion industry internationally.

The event also underscores the role of platforms like CENTRESTAGE in providing a launchpad for local designers to gain recognition and access international markets. With the support of HKTDC and CCIDA, these initiatives help foster a conducive environment for cultural and creative industries, aligning with Hong Kong's strategic goal of becoming Asia's creative capital.

The three trade events, running concurrently, highlight Hong Kong's multifaceted industries, from fashion to watchmaking, and attract both regional and international participants. As these events continue, they serve as vital platforms for business networking and cultural exchange, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a two-way global investment and business hub.
