The Chapel of the Holy Chalice in Valencia Cathedral was the site of a significant event this Tuesday: the official presentation and blessing of the Pilgrimage Credentials of The Way of the Holy Grail, intended for the First Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage of the Holy Chalice. This initiative takes place within the framework of the III Jubilee Year granted by the Holy See, marking a milestone for the diocese.
The ceremony, held at 11:30 a.m., included the delivery of 500 pilgrimage credentials provided by the City Council of Massamagrell. This reaffirms the commitment of local institutions to the development and promotion of this cultural and spiritual itinerary. The credentials were solemnly blessed by Mr. Álvaro Almenar, Canon Custodian of the Holy Chalice, in a gesture of spiritual significance that marks the beginning of this new diocesan pilgrimage.
Ms. María Sebastián, delegate of Youth of the Diocese of Valencia, and Mr. Sergio Pelarda, advisor of the same delegation, have promoted this initiative aimed at bringing new generations closer to the Holy Chalice as a symbol of faith, history, and encounter. Mr. José Verdeguer, Canon of Heritage of the Valencia Cathedral, expressed gratitude for the continuous work of research and dissemination developed by The Way of the Holy Grail.
Representing civil and institutional society, Dr. Ana Mafé García, president of the Cultural Association The Way of the Holy Grail, highlighted the importance of these credentials as an instrument of welcome and recognition for the contemporary pilgrim. Mr. Francisco Gómez Laserna, mayor-president of the City Council of Massamagrell, emphasized his entity's commitment to the cultural and spiritual heritage linked to the Holy Chalice.

During April 2026, young people will have the opportunity to register and participate in this historic event, receiving their Pilgrimage Credential of The Way of the Holy Grail. The Youth Delegation of the Diocese of Valencia and the Cultural Association encourage all young people to join this pilgrimage combining spirituality, heritage, nature, and coexistence, walking together towards Valencia Cathedral inspired by the Holy Chalice.
