Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) reported results from 15 diamond drill holes at the Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, highlighting wide zones of copper mineralization in leachable material close to surface. The company has renamed the 1.7 km trend southwest of the historical Manto Negro open pit as Tenorita. Drilling continues with three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig on site.
Key intercepts include drill hole BRT-DDH072, which returned 111.9 metres at 0.97% copper from 21.1 metres depth, including 18.0 metres at 1.59% copper from 84 metres. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 returned 147.7 metres at 0.41% copper from 26.3 metres, including 47.0 metres at 0.88% copper from 113 metres. These results confirm consistent shallow mineralization across approximately 300 metres in the widest part of the Tenorita area, as illustrated in cross-section A-A' (see Figure 2 here).
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy, commented: “Buen Retiro continues to deliver excellent results and several of the fifteen drill holes reported today reflect wide zones of mineralization in leachable material close to surface. Note that the best drill hole reported today, drill hole #72, is to the east of drill hole #70, confirming consistent shallow mineralization for about 300 metres across the widest part of the Tenorita area. Fitzroy has four rigs turning at Buen Retiro, and the team aims to complete the drill-out of the Tenorita area in August, to stay on track with our stated aim of production in early 2028.”
Since February 2026, Fitzroy has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 metres. The company plans an additional 9,000 metres of drilling in 2026 with three objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for inclusion in a Pre-Feasibility Study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets. Currently, one diamond drill rig is testing shallow sulphides north of Manto Negro (renamed Ortuzar), another is testing the southern extension (renamed Nativo), the third is drilling the northeast extension of Tenorita, and the RC rig is testing regional targets.
Drill hole BRT-DDH072 also included sub-intervals of 19 metres at 1.50% copper from 32 metres, 18 metres at 1.59% copper from 84 metres, and 18 metres at 1.91% copper from 111 metres. Previously reported holes in the area, such as drill hole 27 (133 metres at 0.46% copper from 22 metres, previously reported here) and drill hole 58 (75.0 metres at 0.82% copper from 9.0 metres, previously reported here), further support the continuity of mineralization.
The company follows rigorous quality assurance and quality control procedures, including insertion of blanks, pulp duplicates, and certified copper standards from INTEM. The QA/QC samples represent about 12% of total core samples, and no significant issues were identified in the current round. Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans, a Qualified Person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information.
