Nutritional Products International (NPI), a U.S. brand management and retail distribution firm, announced the promotion of Scott Gould to Vice President of Operations and Business Development, representing the fourth generation of the Gould family's retail lineage. Founder and CEO Mitch Gould, who has led the company since 2007, emphasized that the expansion strengthens NPI's operational capabilities while preserving the family-led principles that have guided the firm for over a century.
Scott Gould's new role encompasses oversight of key operational initiatives, technology integration, and enhancements to NPI's Evolution of Distribution platform. According to the announcement, his hands-on experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain optimization, and retail-facing technology has been instrumental in NPI's recent growth, contributing to improved operational efficiency and analytics for brands entering the U.S. market.
Mitch Gould, who has spent more than 40 years shaping the retail and consumer-goods landscape, stated, 'Scott's promotion reflects the dedication he has shown across every area of our operations. He is strengthening the foundation we’ve built, bringing forward new ideas, and helping modernize the tools and capabilities our clients rely on — while I continue to lead the company and guide our long-standing buyer relationships.' Scott Gould added, 'I’m proud to contribute to a company built on four generations of hard work. My goal is to support my father’s vision, strengthen our operational capabilities, and help extend NPI’s leadership in the industry.'
The Gould family's retail journey began in the early 1900s, with Mitch's grandfather building a manufacturing and consumer-goods business in Brooklyn, New York. Mitch's father expanded into distribution and retail development. Mitch entered the retail industry at 23, building relationships with buyers and identifying trends ahead of the market. His career spans major national retailers and iconic consumer brands, including Igloo, Rubbermaid, Sunbeam, and Miracle-Gro, as well as celebrity product lines for Steven Seagal, Hulk Hogan, Ronnie Coleman, Chuck Liddell, and Wayne Gretzky. In 2007, he founded NPI and established the Evolution of Distribution platform, a turnkey system that streamlines FDA compliance, logistics, sales, marketing, and retail placement for U.S. market entry.
While Mitch remains fully at the helm, the fourth generation is contributing innovation across key areas. Scott has overseen upgrades to real-time analytics tools, enabling faster insights into category trends and inventory flow. Process improvements have strengthened speed-to-market capabilities while maintaining personalized service. NPI has also expanded digital, creator-driven strategies to help brands generate consumer demand through platforms like TikTok and Instagram, supporting retail sell-through. Additionally, building on Mitch's international relationships, NPI is expanding outreach to brands across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
The company stressed that this transition is an expansion, not a handoff, strengthening long-term capacity while keeping Mitch's leadership and buyer relationships central. 'This is about building depth, not shifting responsibility,' Mitch emphasized. 'Our clients benefit from the experience of three generations before us — and now from the energy and capabilities of the fourth.' This approach ensures no disruption to client relationships, continued direct involvement from Mitch in major retail negotiations, expansion of resources, and long-term stability for brands.
Looking ahead, NPI is experiencing record momentum with more brand launches and strengthened international partnerships. 'Retail will continue to evolve — it always has,' Mitch said. 'But our foundation is strong, our values are intact, and our next generation is contributing in ways that reinforce our position. That’s how a family legacy continues.'
