Gateway Summit Málaga 2026: A Strategic Bridge for Transatlantic Innovation and Investment

Gateway Summit Málaga, scheduled for October 1-2 at the Málaga Cruise Terminal, is positioning itself as a pivotal event for transatlantic innovation and investment. Following a promotional visit to Miami during eMerge Americas, the summit's coordinator, César Caballero, has highlighted the event's role in bridging the tech hubs of South Florida and Málaga.

The summit's airport-inspired concept, featuring spaces like the 'Pitching Runway' and 'Takeoff Talks', is designed to facilitate connections between entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and innovation ecosystems. Caballero emphasized that the event goes beyond traditional conferences, aiming to generate concrete business opportunities across the Atlantic.

Speaking with Hispanic Target Magazine, Caballero noted the positive reception in Miami, where interest in emerging innovation hubs is high. 'Málaga sparked tremendous curiosity due to its blend of talent, high quality of life, international connectivity, and a business ecosystem that has matured rapidly,' he said. The trip resulted in strategic collaboration agreements and commitments from U.S. and Latin American investors to attend the October summit.

The agenda balances top-tier content with interactive formats. Key themes include Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, FinTech, EdTech, HealthTech, SpaceTech, Smart Cities, Connected Mobility, and Impact Investing. A notable new initiative brings together around 20 investors for a live masterclass on startup evaluation, demystifying investment decisions.

Prominent speakers from companies like Mastercard, Renault, and Indra will discuss connected mobility and digital assets. Sessions will also cover healthcare innovation with Quirón, space technology with PLD Space, and AI applications with Metricool. Markus Gotthard will deliver a keynote on drones and security, and representatives from Cisco, Reental, and Bolt will join various panels.

The summit is tailored for startups, corporations, investors, and institutions seeking expansion into European markets. Advanced networking tools will enable pre-arranged meetings, ensuring productive interactions. Caballero stressed the importance of actionable outcomes: 'The key question at the end of Gateway shouldn't be “Which presentation did you like best?” but rather “Who did you meet, and what deals will follow?”'

Practical workshops include Reental's session on alternative investments and 'Tres en Forma', featuring investors Jesús Alonso Gallo, Rodolfo Carpintier, and Néstor Salvador Boichenco. An Experience Zone will showcase live demos and immersive technologies, allowing attendees to engage with innovation firsthand. Gateway Summit aims to provide a high-ROI experience for all participants, reinforcing the transatlantic bridge between the Americas and Europe.
