The Georgia accounting community raised $363,162.91 through the 2026 Georgia Accounting Food Fight, an amount that translates into 1,452,652 meals for Georgians facing hunger. The campaign, a collaboration between The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and Feeding Georgia, involved 53 team fundraising pages and more than 4,400 employees from accounting firms and industry accounting departments across the state. The results underscore the accounting profession's capacity to mobilize significant resources for social good, particularly as food banks seek to recover from the heightened demand of the summer months.
Since its inception in 2014, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised $3,289,797.51, providing 13,159,190 meals to communities throughout Georgia. The 2026 total continues that trajectory, with funds raised by participating teams remaining local to benefit the food bank serving each team's community. This localized approach means the campaign not only addresses statewide hunger but also strengthens regional hunger-relief infrastructure. Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia, expressed gratitude to participants, noting that their generosity strengthens the work of food banks and hunger-relief partners. She also highlighted the campaign's potential for growth, stating, "In 2027, we want to build on this momentum, welcome new teams to the competition and show just how much more we can accomplish together."
The competitive structure of the Food Fight, which pits accounting firms and departments against one another in a friendly statewide contest, has proven effective in driving engagement. This year's top honors went to Nichols Cauley, named Statewide Hunger Champion for raising $53,405.16 across its combined teams, and Underwood Advisors, LLC, named Statewide Food Fight Hero for raising $2,061.88 and earning the most points per employee statewide. Other winners included Deloitte Atlanta Audit & Assurance (Big Four – Overall and Per Employee), Forvis Mazars, LLP (Large Firm – Overall), Cherry Bekaert (Large Firm – Per Employee), Smith Adcock and Company LLP (Medium Firm – Overall and Per Employee), Rumph & Associates (Small Firm – Overall and Per Employee), Underwood Advisors, LLC (Sole Proprietor – Overall and Per Employee), and Teradata Corporation (Industry Accounting Department – Overall and Per Employee).
Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, emphasized the profession's collective impact, saying, "The Georgia Accounting Food Fight continues to demonstrate what our profession can accomplish when we come together in service to our communities." He noted that the campaign has provided more than 13 million meals since 2014, calling it a meaningful reflection of the spirit of the profession. The initiative not only addresses immediate hunger needs but also reinforces the accounting community's role as a catalyst for positive change in Georgia.
