Glocoms Inc. Expands Federal Medical Support as Maurence Anguh, Ph.D. Advances Aerospace Medicine Services at Joint Base San Antonio

Glocoms Inc. is expanding its specialized federal healthcare services with an aerospace medicine engagement supporting the Defense Language Institute-English Language Center (DLIELC) at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. The contract, detailed in the federal Performance Work Statement, requires an experienced Aerospace Medicine Physician, also known as a Flight Surgeon, to provide medical expertise, consultation, and program oversight to the Air Education and Training Command (AETC).

Maurence Anguh, Ph.D., brings experienced leadership to Glocoms as the company continues to develop its capabilities in federal professional and healthcare services. This engagement underscores the intersection of aerospace medicine, physical standards, medical certification, and operational readiness within an Air Force training environment.

The scope of work extends beyond traditional clinical duties. The physician will support DLIELC's Flight Medicine and Physical Standards Branch, applying physical standards, managing certification actions, considering waivers, and analyzing operational risks associated with Force Development Exception to Policy processes. The role includes medical evaluations, adjudication of waiver requests, fitness-for-duty determinations, and other medical case reviews.

Notably, the position involves advising DLIELC leadership on the Aerospace Medicine Enterprise across 11 AETC bases, encompassing aerospace, occupational, environmental, preventive medicine, and public health programs. The physician will recommend implementations of Department of Defense, Air Force, and AETC guidance and standards.

Another key component is case review and risk assessment for Force Development Exception to Policy board proceedings. This includes reviewing medical records, coordinating with healthcare providers, and consulting with the Aeromedical Consultation Service at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. The physician will also perform quality control on Flying Class physical waivers through the Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System and provide consultation to the Personnel Reliability Assurance Program and Public Health Emergency Officer plans.

The specialized nature of this assignment demands exceptional qualifications. The PWS requires an M.D. or D.O. degree, aerospace medicine credentials, current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, and senior or chief flight surgeon credentials. An active, unrestricted U.S. medical license and recent experience as a military aerospace medicine specialist are also mandatory. Performance must align with The Joint Commission, Air Force Inspection Agency's Health Services Inspection, and Air Force Medical Service guidelines.

Maurence Anguh, Ph.D. sees this as an opportunity to apply his management expertise to a highly regulated environment. For Glocoms Inc., it reinforces the company's ability to deliver professionals who can operate within demanding federal frameworks.

The contract sets high performance standards, with several consultation and case review objectives requiring a 99% monthly threshold. Security and information protection are integral, with contractor personnel needing to comply with Air Force and Department of Defense security, privacy, and information assurance requirements. A HIPAA Business Associate Agreement is also included to safeguard protected health information.

Through this engagement, Glocoms continues to position itself in specialized federal healthcare niches, leveraging Maurence Anguh's leadership to support complex military medical operations.
