The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) launched the GreenBiz HK campaign in Bangkok from March 17 to 20, 2026, aiming to deepen collaboration between Hong Kong and Thailand in the green economy. The campaign included a GreenBiz HK Forum, networking events, and business matching meetings, alongside a Hong Kong Green Team delegation. The forum, held at the Grande Centre Point Lumphini Hotel, attracted over 550 government and business representatives from across Thailand.
Dr Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, served as Guest of Honour and delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of cross-border partnerships in the green transition. Anna Cheung, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, highlighted Hong Kong's role as a superconnector and international green finance and innovation hub. The forum featured a plenary session on "Hong Kong-Thailand Partnerships for Sustainability and Innovation," where leaders from Hong Kong Green Finance Association, HSBC, Bank of China (Hong Kong), ATAL Engineering Group, and Asia Carbon Institute discussed green finance, technology, and ESG strategies. Mr Huang Weiwei from Charoen Pokphand Group shared Thailand's Bio-Circular-Green economic model and how Hong Kong's capital platforms can support Thai enterprises.
Two concurrent breakout sessions focused on sustainable technology and future city development. The first, "Driving a Sustainable Tomorrow through Green Technology and Integrated Design," featured speakers from ASTRI, Henderson Land, Arup, and Otherland Limited, discussing green technologies and smart city applications. Dr Krithpaka Boonfueng of Thailand's National Innovation Agency highlighted interest in leveraging Hong Kong's strengths. The second session, "Building Smarter, Greener and Healthier Cities," supported by BEAM Society Limited and the Hong Kong Green Building Council, examined green building standards and low-carbon construction.
Business matching sessions enabled participants to translate dialogue into concrete partnerships, accelerating cross-border collaboration in green technology and energy transition. The GreenBiz HK campaign is part of the Economic and Trade Express platform, designed to help Hong Kong SMEs explore overseas markets. The Hong Kong Green Team delegation, co-led by Ms Anna Cheung and Ir Dr Lo Wai Kwok, included 18 delegates from architecture, engineering, smart city development, ESG advisory, and green technology. Meetings with Thai Green Building Institute, Eastern Economic Corridor Office, WHA Industrial Development, and TPI Polene explored partnership opportunities.
GreenBiz HK brings together Hong Kong's green service providers, fostering cross-sector collaboration. The initiative leverages Hong Kong's capital market and financial expertise to support green investment and sustainable development.
