Huawei Cloud has announced the global launch of its latest AI Cluster Service (AICS) and a broad set of enterprise AI products, marking a significant step in its strategy to build an open agentic cloud. The announcements, made at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, underscore the company's ambition to provide the infrastructure and platforms needed for the next wave of AI: autonomous agents that can reason, plan, and act. The move matters because it addresses critical barriers to enterprise AI adoption—scalability, reliability, and ecosystem support—and could accelerate the shift from experimental AI to production-grade agentic systems.
At the core of the launch is the latest AICS, built on a five-level fast recovery mechanism with full-chain observability. It supports over 40 days of stable training on cloud and can recover from faults within 10 minutes. With coordinated optimization across scheduling, cache, and algorithms, it delivers 20% higher token throughput than the previous generation. The service will be commercially available in China on September 30 and in markets outside China on November 30. This infrastructure is designed to make every token more efficient and to run agents securely in real production environments, a key requirement for enterprises moving beyond pilots.
Complementing the compute service is the Context Memory Storage (CMS) solution, which provides petabyte-scale memory space—twice the storage capacity of comparable industry products—and supports high-speed terabyte-scale memory reads with 50% higher performance than industry peers. This addresses the memory and access efficiency needs of long-horizon agent tasks, which often require persistent context and rapid recall. Together, these infrastructure components form what Huawei Cloud calls Agentic Infra, a paradigm that has already served over 3,500 customers.
On the platform side, Huawei Cloud is advancing its Agentic Model as a Service (MaaS) platform, which brings together diverse models and allows developers to invoke state-of-the-art models from leading providers with one click and no deployment. MiniMax demonstrated its advanced multimodal model at the event, highlighting the open, cutting-edge capabilities enabled by the partnership. The AgentArts enterprise-grade agent platform, along with its open-source edition openJiuwen, opens up more than 5,000 general Model Context Protocol (MCP) assets and over 1,000 industry-specific MCP assets. AgentArts has already served more than 100 customers, including the Shenzhen Longgang District Government, China Southern Power Grid, and Kingsoft Office. AgentArts will be commercially available outside China on December 30, and the openJiuwen community has surpassed 50,000 stars and 3.29 million downloads.
Huawei Cloud is also expanding its Industry AI Foundry, which aggregates industry scenarios, models, data, knowledge, and agents into reusable capabilities. With over 1,000 industry-specific assets and more than 1,000 deployed projects, the foundry now includes two new zones: Smart Government Zone and AI Hardware Zone. The Smart Government Zone has 24 founding partners, while the AI Hardware Zone has onboarded 15 core partners covering more than 20 device types. These efforts aim to drive agents toward large-scale adoption across industries.
The implications are substantial. By offering an open agentic cloud—spanning open infrastructure, an open platform, and an open industry ecosystem—Huawei Cloud is positioning itself as a full-stack provider for enterprises seeking to build and deploy AI agents. This could lower the barrier to entry for organizations that lack deep AI expertise, while also fostering a partner ecosystem that includes Chinasoft International, iSoftStone Group, and Beiming Software. As AI agents become more capable, the demand for robust, efficient, and secure infrastructure will only grow. Huawei Cloud's announcements signal that it intends to be a key enabler of that future, and its success could reshape competitive dynamics in the cloud and AI markets.
