iToolShare, a developer of desktop multimedia software, has announced a major upgrade to its Blu-ray Player for Windows. The update introduces a standalone 3D anaglyph playback engine and comprehensive support for HDMV and BD-J interactive menus, aiming to deliver a complete Blu-ray experience on Windows 11 and Windows 10 systems.
The new 3D anaglyph mode allows users to toggle real-time red-cyan 3D rendering, enabling playback of 3D content without specialized hardware. This feature is optimized for standard integrated graphics cards, making it accessible to a wider range of users. The player also includes hardware-accelerated decoding for commercial Blu-rays, 4K Ultra HD discs, and ISO folders, ensuring smooth playback even with high-bitrate content.
Full BD-J menu navigation is a key highlight, as it reconstructs complex Java-based disc menus. This gives users access to bonus features, commentary tracks, and interactive layouts directly from their desktops. The update also features HDR10+ to SDR color mapping for non-HDR displays and improved audio stability through re-engineered system APIs.
According to Tim, Product Lead at iToolShare, the engineering focus was to bridge the gap between legacy disc structures and modern desktop environments. The player is designed to be resource-efficient and compatible with a range of hardware, including emerging Windows on ARM ecosystems.
