JoySauce TV Launches on Roku, Becoming the Most Widely Distributed Network for AAPI Stories

JoySauce TV, the streaming network dedicated to American Asian stories and Asian pop culture, has officially launched on Roku Channel, a move that significantly expands its reach to more than 100 million households across North America. This launch, effective June 30, 2026, makes JoySauce the first AAPI-focused channel to be added to Roku's platform, according to a company announcement.

The Roku debut follows recent distribution agreements with Amazon Prime Video and Plex, positioning JoySauce as the most widely distributed television network for AAPI content. Viewers can now access JoySauce TV free on Roku, Amazon Prime Video, Plex, YouTube, JoySauce.TV, and mobile apps. This expansion reflects the network's rapid growth since its founding in 2020 by tech entrepreneur Jonathan Sposato, who created JoySauce to address a gap in media representation while celebrating the cultural influence of American Asians.

The network's programming includes a diverse slate of original and acquired content, such as JoySauce Late Night, the first AAPI late-night talk show; Jokes with JoySauce, an all-AAPI standup comedy series currently under Emmy consideration; and Team Tan, which follows professional race car driver Samantha Tan. Additionally, JoySauce offers live cultural moments, Asian cinema showcases, cult classics, Asian game shows, and anime and tokusatsu programming.

This expansion comes at a time when Asian and Asian American culture is gaining unprecedented mainstream influence. According to Sposato, the goal is to provide a platform where AAPI individuals can stand with greater stature and share their stories with a broad audience. "Launching on Roku is another important step toward making Asian American stories available wherever audiences choose to watch," he said in the announcement.

Industry analysts see this as a strategic move to capture a growing demographic. With the rise of streaming and the demand for diverse content, JoySauce's presence on major platforms like Roku could set a precedent for other niche networks. The company's leadership emphasizes that this is not just about distribution but about building a sustainable ecosystem for creators and communities.

Brandon Ferguson, COO and CFO of JoySauce, noted that every new platform strengthens the ecosystem around American Asian culture. Narumi Inatsugu, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, added that the focus is on ownership of stories and platforms, moving beyond representation to cultural influence.

Jake Rubin, Co-founding Executive of Digital Networks, highlighted the void in the marketplace for AAPI content, even in a 900+ channel universe. The network plans additional programming announcements and platform expansions throughout 2026.

JoySauce TV's availability on Roku is a significant milestone for AAPI representation in media, offering viewers a dedicated destination for authentic and entertaining content.
