Lee’s Auto & RV Ranch has listed three 2027 MDC USA XT Expedition Series off-road trailers at its Ellington, Connecticut dealership, with advertised price differences totaling $43,910 against displayed retail prices. The listings, which also include four additional in-stock RVs on the dealership’s Current Promotions page, signal a push to capture buyer interest in specialized, off-grid-capable trailers and value-priced recreational vehicles as the 2027 model year approaches.
The three MDC USA models span a range of sizes and capabilities. The 2027 MDC USA XT12HR Off-Grid Extreme, stock 13343, is listed at $72,990 against a retail price of $83,990, a difference of $11,000. The 18-foot trailer weighs 4,340 pounds, sleeps two, and includes an outdoor kitchen. The 2027 MDC USA XT16HR Island Off-Grid Extreme, stock 13346, is listed at $93,990 compared with $107,990, a difference of $14,000. It measures 22 feet, weighs 5,470 pounds, sleeps three, and features an 800Ah Renogy lithium battery, a 700-watt rooftop solar system, enhanced thermal insulation, an outdoor kitchen, and a front bedroom. The largest of the three, the 2027 MDC USA XT19HRT Off-Grid Extreme, stock 13273, is listed at $125,990 against $144,900, a difference of $18,910. It measures 25 feet, weighs 6,610 pounds, sleeps three, and includes an outdoor kitchen and a front bedroom.
These advertised savings matter because they lower the entry point for buyers seeking rugged, self-sufficient trailers. The XT16HR’s solar and lithium setup, in particular, targets campers who want to extend trips without electrical hookups. However, the dealership cautions that the comparisons use displayed retail and advertised prices and do not represent a guaranteed final purchase cost; taxes, registration, delivery charges, and financing may affect the amount paid.
The Current Promotions page adds four more RVs with advertised prices below displayed retail. The 2025 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Den 271RK, stock 13040, is listed at $34,997 against $57,026, a difference of $22,029. The used 2019 Starcraft Super Lite 311BH, stock 12885, is listed at $25,900 against $39,198, a difference of $13,298, with a private bunkhouse, outdoor kitchen, two slide-outs, and sleeping for up to 10. The used 2015 Roadtrek TS-Adventurous TS, stock 12980, is listed at $77,997 against $141,531, a difference of $63,534; the 23-foot Class B diesel motorhome sleeps four. The 2026 Forest River Cherokee Timberwolf 39DK, stock 13224, is listed at $55,499 against $77,459, a difference of $21,960; the 44-foot destination trailer sleeps eight and has four slide-outs. Combined, the four listings show advertised price differences of $120,821.
For buyers researching RVs in Connecticut, the listings underscore the importance of matching a trailer’s gross vehicle weight rating, hitch weight, and cargo capacity to a tow vehicle’s limits. Dry weight does not include water, equipment, or personal belongings. Solar and battery equipment can support off-grid camping, but operating time depends on sunlight, storage, weather, and appliance use, so buyers should verify the equipment fitted to a specific unit.
“Shoppers may be comparing different formats, from off-road trailers to motorhomes and destination trailers. Looking at each unit’s layout, equipment and intended use can help them decide which setup fits their plans,” said Lee Luginbuhl, President of Lee’s Auto & RV Ranch. The dealership, founded in 1994 and operating from a nine-acre property in Ellington, Connecticut, has grown to more than 40 employees and sells new and used RVs, trucks, and trailers. Buyers can confirm prices, specifications, and availability directly with the dealership before making a purchase decision.
