GRANTSBURG, IL — At 72 and legally blind, Lois Inman is in the final days of a community investment campaign to build Southern Illinois' first solar-powered agritourism destination, Bone + Bear Farms. The campaign on Honeycomb Credit has raised $17,771 of its $50,000 minimum goal, with funds to be returned to investors if the goal is not met by December 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Bone + Bear Farms transforms 30 acres into a women-led destination featuring The Gilded Goat heritage skincare line, eco-luxury glamping, and on-farm experiences. The Honeycomb raise will fund a solar-powered production space, glamping infrastructure, and educational areas where visitors can learn about farming and renewable energy.
Inman draws inspiration from her grandmother Della, who taught her to make goat-milk soap. 'If you want something to exist, you have to build it,' Inman recalls. The farm aims to serve as a rural workforce hub, training local women in skincare production and agritourism.
Honeycomb Credit is waiving investor transaction fees from Small Business Saturday through Cyber Monday. Investments start at $100, and the full offering details are available on the Honeycomb Credit campaign page.
