Liberty Puerto Rico has partnered with HITN, the leading Spanish-language public media network in the U.S., to bring Edye, its award-winning preschool content ecosystem, to Liberty TV customers. Starting this week, families on the island can add Edye to any television package for $2.99 per month, gaining access to a safe, ad-free Spanish-language platform designed for children ages two to six. The service will be available as an à la carte option within Liberty’s entertainment packages and can also be streamed through Liberty Go, the exclusive app for Liberty TV customers, as well as the Edye app on iOS and Android.
This move underscores Liberty’s commitment to providing high-quality, educational entertainment for Puerto Rican families. Quique Vivas, Chief Consumer Officer at Liberty, emphasized the importance of offering content parents can trust. “Our customers are always looking for content they can trust for their little ones, and Edye is exactly that,” he said. The addition reinforces Liberty’s position as the island’s leading provider of broadband, video, telephone, and wireless services.
Edye’s programming is carefully curated to nurture curiosity, imagination, and discovery, featuring beloved characters such as Daniel Tiger, Pocoyo, Paw Patrol, and Molang. With more than 2,500 episodes across over 70 preschool series, the platform also includes games and parent guides to extend learning beyond screen time. “Edye was created to give parents peace of mind and offer children content that supports their development,” said Eric Turpin, General Manager of HITN. “Bringing this experience to Liberty customers means even more families on the Island can turn screen time into family connection time.”
The partnership is a strategic expansion for both companies. HITN reaches more than 35 million households in the U.S. and Puerto Rico through various distributors, and this collaboration with Liberty extends its reach further. For Liberty, it adds a unique, educational offering that differentiates its entertainment packages in a competitive market. The service is available at a modest price point, making it accessible to a wide range of families.
Edye has been available for over seven years in Spanish and Portuguese across major platforms in the U.S. and Latin America, including Brazil. Its addition to Liberty’s lineup in Puerto Rico marks another milestone in its growth. The platform’s focus on safe, ad-free content aligns with growing parental concerns about screen time, offering a solution that combines entertainment with developmental benefits.
As families increasingly seek quality content for their children, this partnership addresses a critical need. By integrating Edye into its offerings, Liberty not only enhances its value proposition but also contributes to the educational and cultural development of Puerto Rican children. The service is available now, and interested customers can access it through Liberty’s television packages or via the Liberty Go app.
