LION E-Mobility Group is strengthening its stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS) business through key personnel appointments, underscoring the segment's role as a growth pillar for the company. Winfried Wahl has been named Head of BESS Strategy, and Sebastian Bujnoch joins as Manager Business and Sales Development for the BESS unit, according to a press release from the company.
Wahl brings over 18 years of experience in photovoltaic and energy storage markets, having previously shaped European market entry for companies such as Hithium and LONGi. He contributed to developments like the BNEF Tier 1 listing and reinsurance eligibility through Munich Re, and co-authored the IEA World Energy Outlook Special Report 2024. At LION Smart, he will refine strategic positioning, develop product and business models, and expand partnerships in stationary storage.
Bujnoch adds extensive international leadership in manufacturing and battery sectors, with 16 years of experience in China and Asian markets. His expertise in industrial scaling and supply chains will support building and scaling the BESS business unit, focusing on Chinese supplier relationships and European customer development.
