MAX Power Mining (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) is advancing its collaboration with the Petroleum Technology Research Center (PTRC) and the University of Regina through a technical working session and field visit focused on Canada’s first Natural Hydrogen drill program. The initiative targets the 475-kilometer Genesis Trend in Saskatchewan, where the company is exploring naturally occurring hydrogen systems.

The technical working session, held at the University of Regina’s Innovation Center, brings together researchers from PTRC, the University of Regina, the Saskatchewan Geological Survey, and the Colorado School of Mines. Led by Chief Geoscientist Steve Halabura, the group aims to deepen understanding of Saskatchewan’s natural hydrogen potential and identify new research and commercialization opportunities. The session is followed by a field visit to the Lawson drill site near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, which is home to the country’s first Natural Hydrogen drill program.

This collaboration is significant because natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, is a promising clean energy source that could play a key role in decarbonization. Unlike hydrogen produced from fossil fuels, natural hydrogen is generated through geological processes and can be extracted with minimal environmental impact. Saskatchewan’s geological formations, particularly along the Genesis Trend, are believed to hold significant reserves of natural hydrogen.

MAX Power Mining has established a dominant position in the natural hydrogen sector, holding approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits covering prime exploration ground. The company has identified high-priority drill target areas and plans to commence drilling in Q4 2025. This positions MAX Power as a first mover in the rapidly growing natural hydrogen industry, which has attracted attention from governments and investors seeking sustainable energy solutions.

In addition to its natural hydrogen projects, MAX Power holds a portfolio of critical mineral properties in the United States and Canada, including the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona, where the company made a diamond drilling discovery in 2024. The company’s focus on critical minerals aligns with North America’s shift toward decarbonization and energy independence.

The involvement of leading researchers from institutions like the Colorado School of Mines, including Dr. Yaoguo Li, underscores the scientific rigor of the project.
