MAX Power Mining Drills Canada's First Natural Hydrogen Well, Marking Milestone in Clean Energy

MAX Power Mining (CSE: MAXX) (OTC: MAXXF) (FRANKFURT: 89N) has commenced drilling Canada's first-ever Natural Hydrogen well at its Lawson target near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, a move that industry observers say could reshape the country's clean energy landscape. The well is the first in a multi-hole program across the 475-kilometer Genesis Trend, which represents Canada's largest permitted Natural Hydrogen land package.

The drilling operation, carried out by Stampede Drilling's 24-person tele-double rig crew, underscores MAX Power's commitment to advancing hydrogen science and technology. CEO Mansoor Jan described the event as "a remarkable achievement" and confirmed that the company will present its Genesis Trend strategy at next week's global Natural Hydrogen conference in Paris.

Natural hydrogen, also known as white hydrogen, is generated naturally through geological processes and offers a low-carbon alternative to hydrogen produced from fossil fuels. The success of this well could pave the way for large-scale domestic production, reducing reliance on imported energy and supporting Canada's decarbonization goals.

MAX Power has built a dominant land position in the sector, with approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits covering prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of natural hydrogen. High-priority initial drill target areas have been identified for commencement of drilling in Q4 2025. The company also holds a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada focused on critical minerals, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona.

The implications of this announcement extend beyond MAX Power. As the first natural hydrogen well in Canada, it could attract significant investment and government support for the sector, potentially creating a new industry segment. The Genesis Trend's scale and the company's first-mover advantage position MAX Power to play a pivotal role in the global transition to clean energy.
