For the entire month of October, South Florida customers of Mega Bee Rescues & Pest Control will notice a striking change: the company's familiar yellow-and-black bee is turning pink. The family-owned pest control and bee removal company, which serves residential, commercial, and managed properties across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, is transforming its branding, uniforms, and protective gear to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. The initiative, called Mega Bee Goes Pink, goes beyond social media graphics by embedding the cause directly into daily operations.
Throughout October, Mega Bee will contribute 5% of its pest control and bee removal services to support the fight against breast cancer. Technicians will perform their regular routes wearing pink uniforms, gloves, and shoe covers, and customers will receive "Your Service Went Pink Today" cards explaining how their service became part of the campaign. "We asked ourselves what going pink could look like if we actually brought it into what we do every day," said Jean Navarro, CEO of Mega Bee Rescues & Pest Control. "We're already going into homes, businesses and communities throughout South Florida. Instead of simply saying we support the cause, we wanted our customers to see it, our team to wear it and the work we perform throughout October to contribute to it."
The campaign has personal significance for the Mega Bee team. Breast cancer has touched the family of one team member, who experienced a loss due to the disease. "Behind the pink are real people and real families," Navarro said. "For the fighters, the survivors, the families and those we've lost, we wanted to use our company and the work we're already doing every day to show support in a real way." This personal connection drove the decision to involve the entire operation for the full month rather than a one-day promotion.
Beyond customer properties, the campaign will extend into the community. On Saturday, October 17, members of the Mega Bee team will participate in the Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale MORE THAN PINK Walk at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo Center. The company will document the month's activities, from technicians working in pink across South Florida to the team's participation in the walk, and ultimately share the impact generated with customers, team members, and the community.
For Navarro, the initiative reflects the company's local roots and its ability to use everyday operations for a larger purpose. "We're not a huge corporation," he said. "We're a local, family-owned company. But we have a team, customers, trucks on the road and a presence in our community every day. We realized we could use all of that for something bigger than ourselves." The unexpected sight of pink-clad technicians is intentional, designed to spark conversations at homes, businesses, and condominium communities, and online. Every inquiry about the pink bee becomes an opportunity to discuss breast cancer awareness and the campaign's mission.
Mega Bee Rescues & Pest Control provides professional bee relocation services, year-round pest protection, rodent control, and commercial pest management. The company emphasizes thorough assessments, clear communication, and long-term prevention. As a family-owned Miami pest control and bee removal company, it serves Miami-Dade and Broward counties. By turning its signature yellow bee pink and donating a portion of October revenue, Mega Bee is demonstrating how a local business can integrate philanthropy into its daily work, turning routine service calls into visible support for a cause that affects countless families. The campaign not only raises funds but also elevates awareness in a way that customers can see firsthand, making the fight against breast cancer a part of everyday life in South Florida.
