MS Tech Ltd., a global developer and manufacturer of nano and biosensors, announced that its Food Safety & Agritech Division has secured a research and development grant of approximately $1.7 million from the Israel Innovation Authority. The grant is part of the 'Green Soil' National Consortium, a flagship program focused on advanced biotechnology detection, diagnostics, and monitoring solutions for environmental contamination.

The 'Green Soil' Consortium, chaired and led by Elbit Systems, comprises 10 industrial companies and 16 leading academic research groups. The consortium aims to develop biological technologies for monitoring and diagnosing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), fuel, toxic liquids, and explosives residues in soil and groundwater. These efforts include using biological components, biosensors, bacteria, and new soil penetration techniques.

MS Tech's role in the consortium involves leveraging its proven nanosensor and biosensor technologies to create 'Dual-Use' applications for soil decontamination and land rehabilitation. The company's sensors, which are environmentally friendly and non-radioactive, are deployed in over 72 countries and are used for early diagnostics and field screening in seconds.

Doron Shalom, CEO of MS Tech, expressed appreciation for the Israel Innovation Authority's recognition and highlighted the strategic importance of the grant. The grant will support the further development of MS Tech's biosensors and bio-convergence capabilities. The company anticipates that the innovative developments will generate effective and eco-friendly environmental solutions for a market estimated at billions of dollars locally and open new global markets worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
