NeuroOne Expands Drug Delivery Program Through Mayo Collaboration for Pediatric Brain Cancer Trial

NeuroOne Medical Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: NMTC) announced a collaboration with Mayo Clinic to support a newly funded research program evaluating a novel treatment approach for pediatric diffuse midline glioma (DMG), one of the most aggressive childhood brain cancers. The program is supported by a grant from the Children's Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) to Mayo Clinic investigators Dr. David Daniels and Dr. Liang Zhang.

The research aims to address the challenge of achieving therapeutic drug concentrations within brain tumors. While convection-enhanced delivery (CED) bypasses the blood-brain barrier, rapid drug clearance limits therapeutic benefit. The Mayo team will evaluate a combination therapy strategy to enhance intratumoral drug retention by modulating drug efflux mechanisms, prolonging therapeutic exposure. The project begins with large animal studies and may expand to human studies later.

The study will use NeuroOne's investigational drug delivery neural device, which combines precision intracranial drug delivery with simultaneous neural recording. This integrated approach enables targeted therapy with real-time physiologic monitoring, offering insight into drug delivery and effects on the neural environment. The CCRF award advances this approach toward clinical evaluation and expands NeuroOne's drug delivery initiatives, reflecting growing interest from academic investigators and biopharmaceutical companies.
