New Spasticity and Movement Disorders Practice Opens in Englewood, New Jersey

Spasticity & Movement Partners, a specialty rehabilitation practice founded by Dr. David Park, has opened in Englewood, New Jersey. Located at 15 Engle St, Suite 106, the practice provides focused, compassionate, and evidence-based care for individuals living with spasticity and complex movement challenges. The practice offers comprehensive evaluation, advanced treatment options, coordinated rehabilitation planning, and goal-based progress tracking in a supportive setting.

Spasticity can affect many aspects of daily life, including walking, dressing, hygiene, transfers, sleep, and comfort. For many patients, understanding the causes of tightness, stiffness, spasms, or reduced mobility and whether improvement is possible can be overwhelming. Spasticity & Movement Partners was created to make that process clearer and more collaborative, centering on each patient's real-life goals.

At the helm is Dr. David Park, a board-certified physiatrist with advanced training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, and spasticity care. Dr. Park earned his medical degree through Boston University's accelerated BA/MD program, completed his residency at Tufts Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in pain management in Manhattan. His clinical approach combines medical expertise with patient education and long-term partnership.

"Spasticity care should never be one-size-fits-all," says Dr. Park. "Every patient has a different story, different challenges, and different goals. My vision was to create a place where patients and caregivers receive clear answers, thoughtful treatment options, and a plan built around what matters most to them."

The practice offers comprehensive spasticity assessments, including neurologic and musculoskeletal evaluation, range of motion testing, gait observation, and structured goal setting. Treatment options include oral medications such as baclofen, tizanidine, and diazepam, as well as targeted procedures like botulinum toxin injections (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Myobloc), phenol nerve blocks, and diagnostic nerve blocks, often performed with ultrasound or electromyography guidance. For severe spasticity, intrathecal baclofen pump management is available, including refills and dose adjustments.

A defining feature is multidisciplinary collaboration. Spasticity & Movement Partners works with physical and occupational therapists, neurologists, primary care physicians, orthopedic and neurosurgical specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other providers to support coordinated care. The practice also focuses on measurable progress, using goal-oriented tracking to assess outcomes such as improved walking distance, safer transfers, reduced pain, and easier daily care.

Caregivers are recognized as essential partners. The practice offers education and practical guidance, aiming to improve communication and create treatment plans that fit the realities of home life. Spasticity & Movement Partners enters the Northern New Jersey market with a vision to become a trusted leader in spasticity-focused rehabilitation, combining innovation with empathy.
