Nordex Group Sees 29.5% Order Intake Surge in Q3 2026, Driven by Global Diversification

Nordex Group reported a 29.5 percent year-over-year increase in order intake for the third quarter of 2026, reaching 2,810 megawatts in its Projects segment, up from 2,170 MW in the same period last year. The results, announced in a press release distributed via NEWMEDIAWIRE, underscore the company's growing momentum in the global wind energy market and point to a broadening geographic base of demand.

For the first nine months of 2026, order intake totaled 7,733 MW, a 16.1 percent increase compared with 6,661 MW in the prior-year period. The average sales price remained relatively stable at EUR 0.90 million per megawatt in the third quarter, down slightly from EUR 0.93 million/MW a year earlier, a shift the company attributed primarily to project scope and regional mix effects rather than pricing pressure.

Between July and September, customers ordered 427 wind turbines for projects across 10 countries. Türkiye emerged as the strongest individual market with more than 900 MW, followed by Germany and the United States. The US accounted for over 1.3 GW of orders year to date, according to CEO José Luis Blanco.

“Our order intake is becoming more globally diversified, and the third quarter confirms this,” Blanco said. “Türkiye led with more than 900 MW, and in the US we have now booked more than 1.3 GW year to date. We expect the international share to keep growing as we convert our pipeline in the coming quarters, while order momentum in Europe and Germany remains strong.”

The implications of the announcement extend beyond the headline growth figure. The geographic spread of orders—spanning Türkiye, Germany, and the US—suggests that demand for onshore wind is no longer concentrated in a single region, which could reduce the company's exposure to regulatory or policy shifts in any one market. The stable pricing environment, meanwhile, indicates that competitive pressures have not eroded margins, a key concern for manufacturers in the renewable energy sector.

Nordex has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind power capacity in over 40 markets since 1985 and generated consolidated sales of around EUR 7.6 billion in 2025. The company employs more than 11,100 people and operates manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the US, and Türkiye. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for countries with limited available space and regions with constrained grid capacity.

The third-quarter performance may signal accelerating momentum for the wind industry as countries seek to bolster energy security and meet renewable targets. For Nordex, the challenge will be converting its pipeline into firm orders in the coming quarters, particularly as it seeks to grow its international share.
