Outamation, an AI-native mortgage operations technology company, has integrated Equifax® consumer credit data into its OutamateMods platform, providing loan servicers with a new tool to identify performing borrowers who may be good candidates for a loan modification. The integration, announced today, is live for OutamateMods clients and aims to help servicers retain borrowers in a market where refinance activity is currently low but expected to rise once interest rates fall.
The move addresses a strategic challenge for mortgage servicers: retaining performing loans when refinance incentives return. In today’s rate environment, refinance activity is low, but that will change once rates fall. To prepare for a refinance wave, this new integration allows servicers to react on day one. By incorporating soft-pull credit data directly into the retention workflow, servicers can quickly assess borrower eligibility and offer modifications that improve consumer cash flow while helping servicers maintain their portfolios.
With the integration, servicers gain access to Equifax soft-pull credit data inside OutamateMods and across the Outamation platform. The system supports portfolio retention review to identify performing borrowers who are candidates for a modification, and it enables end-to-end execution in OutamateMods, from eligibility through documents and closing. It also supports retention and recapture programs, including performing loan modifications for portfolio loans.
“The time to build a retention program is before the next refinance wave, not during it,” said Ron Morton, Chief Revenue Officer at Outamation. “Keeping a borrower costs far less than winning one back, so having the tools in place now to prepare is a critical step to create compelling offers for consumers quickly.”
Carrie Doyle, VP of Business Development, Digital Alliances for Mortgage & Housing at Equifax, added, “Mortgage servicers need timely insights to help match borrowers with the right loan. Bringing Equifax soft-pull credit data into OutamateMods puts that insight directly inside the retention workflow. It helps servicers act sooner and serve borrowers better.”
The integration is available now for OutamateMods clients. More information can be found at outamation.com.
