Registered NDIS Provider Expands Services to Address Gaps in NSW and ACT

In a move to address service gaps for individuals with disability, Ability to Achieve Pty Limited has expanded its NDIS community participation and independent living support services across Sydney and Canberra. The registered NDIS provider now supports over 180 participants in both regions, with a focus on delivering structured, person-centred support that fosters community connection and independence.

The expansion brings dedicated behavior support practitioners and community access teams to more participants across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. This growth responds to an increasing caseload and reflects the provider's commitment to goal-directed support that keeps participants engaged in their local communities.

A central focus of the expansion is strengthening NDIS community participation pathways, which enable individuals with disability to take part in social, recreational, and civic activities alongside their peers. Ability to Achieve has structured its services to align with NDIS funding categories that support participants in building capacity and maintaining meaningful routines outside the home.

The provider's independent living support offering is designed to assist participants in developing practical skills for greater autonomy, including support with daily tasks, decision-making, and navigating community environments. Consistent, skilled assistance in these areas can produce measurable outcomes over time.

Community access support forms another core component of the expanded model, connecting participants with local services, group activities, and social networks. Both the Sydney and Canberra teams are structured to provide continuity of support, ensuring participants work with practitioners who are familiar with their individual goals and preferences.

A distinguishing element of the expanded model is the integration of a qualified behavior support practitioner within each multidisciplinary team. These practitioners work directly with participants to assess needs, develop positive behavior support plans, and implement strategies that reduce restrictive practices, in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.

This inclusion reflects a broader shift toward evidence-informed, rights-based approaches in the disability sector. Participants with complex behavior considerations can now access specialised input alongside their community and independent living support programs, without needing to engage a separate provider.

Ability to Achieve has built its service model around the principle that each participant's support plan should reflect their own goals, preferences, and circumstances. Support workers and practitioners are guided by individualised plans developed in collaboration with participants, their families, and allied health professionals.

The community access support teams are equipped to work across various settings, including public transport, community venues, educational environments, and social programs. This flexibility ensures participants can pursue genuine community integration rather than a narrow set of pre-defined activities.

The expansion also positions Ability to Achieve to accommodate participants at different stages of their NDIS journey, from those newly approved for funding to individuals seeking to change providers or increase the scope of their supports. With over 180 participants now receiving services, the provider continues to accept new referrals from participants, plan managers, and support coordinators in Sydney and Canberra.
