Riivah Debuts $375 Parfums with $30 Discovery Sets, Signaling Niche Fragrance Ambitions

Riivah Fragrances, an independent fragrance house founded in 2025, has introduced its first two super-premium parfums, Blue Salt and Molten Light, each priced at $375 for a 50 ml bottle. The launch is significant because it places a new, independent brand directly in the ultra-luxury tier dominated by established names, testing whether a startup can command equivalent prices based on craftsmanship and personal narrative rather than legacy prestige.

The fragrances were developed with Romanian parfumer Anesia Dican, a resident at Maison Galimard, and are handcrafted in France. Blue Salt is a coastal composition with bergamot, grapefruit, marine accord, black tea, white flowers, and a base of white musk, cedarwood, light leather, and amber. Molten Light is warmer and fruit-forward, opening with juicy citrus pineapple and unfolding into mango, red fruits, iris, green tea, kiwi, musk, sweet gourmand, sandalwood, and amber. Both are presented in weighted obsidian-black glass bottles with a label blending 1920s and South Asian aesthetics, housed in a black box with Riivah's peacock-inspired logo.

The pricing strategy is notable for an independent debut: full bottles at $375 each, with discovery sets of two 2 ml vials available for $30. The low-cost discovery option lowers the barrier for consumers to sample the scents before committing to a full bottle, a model increasingly used by niche brands to build trust and reduce purchase risk. Holiday gift sets are expected to be added to the online store shortly.

Cofounder Dhatri Pandya said, "Our goal with Riivah was to build fragrances that could stand up against any luxury brand in the world while staying rooted in personal authenticity." Annapareddy added that both scents tell a story about familial connection to scent, heritage, and personal stories. That emphasis on authenticity and heritage differentiates Riivah in a crowded luxury market, where consumers increasingly seek products with a genuine backstory.

The company's name derives from the Sanskrit word "rivah," meaning "one that moves" or "one that flows," reinforcing the brand's cultural grounding. Based in Redwood City, California, Riivah produces French-made fragrances designed to express presence, refinement, and quiet confidence. The launch of two scents is the first step in a line set to expand over the coming year, suggesting the brand intends to build a broader collection and compete on an ongoing basis.

For the fragrance industry, Riivah's entry signals continued opportunity for independent brands to occupy the super-premium segment, particularly when backed by a clear story and accessible sampling. The brand's exclusivity through its own website gives it control over pricing and customer experience, but also limits reach. How consumers respond to the $375 price point and the $30 discovery sets will indicate whether Riivah's model can sustain expansion. Learn more about Riivah Fragrances at riivahfragrances.com.
