Ron Sturgeon has donated Kennedale's first dog park, Sturgeon Bark Park, located at 6729 Oakcrest Drive East. The park, which opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, features separate areas for large and small dogs, fire hydrants and toys, a water fountain, picnic tables, and a shaded canopy for owners. Garret Davis of Davis Commercial Services coordinated the project from concept to completion.
Kennedale City Manager Darrell Hull expressed gratitude at the grand opening, stating, 'I am so proud to accept and open our first dog park, and give heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sturgeon, as he gave us this for our citizens to enjoy with their pets, and for his help as we redevelop parts of the city.' The park is expected to serve as a gathering place for residents and their pets, promoting outdoor activity and neighborly interaction.
