MUNICH - The new leadership duo at Rubean AG officially took office on July 1, 2026. Fintech company Rubean, known for its software-based point-of-sale (SoftPOS) solution that replaces traditional card readers, has appointed Stephan Kuck as Co-CEO alongside Jochen Pielage. Kuck, formerly CEO of Computop Paygate GmbH, will oversee sales and revenue growth.
This leadership change is significant as Rubean aims to capitalize on its market leadership in Germany and Spain and expand into other European countries, as well as North and South America. The company's SoftPOS technology enables merchants to accept cashless payments on smartphones without additional hardware, a solution that has gained traction among retailers, food service businesses, and delivery services.
"I'm looking forward to working together and, above all, to Rubean now being able to better capitalize on its enormous opportunities in the market," said Pielage. Kuck added, "I know the company very well from the long-standing collaboration between Computop and Rubean, and I'm looking forward to further expanding the already significant growth."
Rubean's SoftPOS solution is already deployed by major banks and payment service providers in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The company plans to further expand its sales operations and strengthen existing partnerships. To finance these efforts, Rubean is considering capital measures.
Dr. Hermann Geupel, former Chief Sales Officer, will remain with the company as Sales Director for the DACH region. The company is listed on m:access and over-the-counter trading venues under the symbol R1B:GR. More information is available at www.rubean.com.
This appointment underscores the growing importance of software-based payment solutions in the retail industry, as businesses seek to reduce hardware costs and simplify payment acceptance. With Kuck's experience at Computop, a leading payment service provider, Rubean is well-positioned to accelerate its market penetration and drive further adoption of its SoftPOS technology.
