The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) is expanding its reach to one of Canada's most iconic destinations with the launch of the inaugural Salsa at Niagara Falls, scheduled for September 12-13. Presented in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, Fallsview Casino Resort, and TLN Media Group, the free festival aims to bring the vibrancy of Latin culture to the natural wonder of the Falls.
The festival will feature a special appearance and free concert by salsa star Frankie Negrón on Sunday, September 13 at 8 PM. Over 300 performers will be showcased across two live entertainment stages, including Juno-nominated Andy Rubal headlining the Saturday lineup, along with award-winning Latin singers Yani Borrell and Aiona Santana. Attendees can participate in dedicated dance zones with non-stop lessons throughout the weekend at the Oakes Garden Theatre, and enjoy world-class dance performances and interactive lessons with schools from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and local Buffalo dance schools such as MOVIEmiento Latin Dance Studio and Fanny Olaya.
The event will also feature a vibrant marketplace celebrating Latin culture with authentic cuisine and specialty vendors. A spectacular nightly 10 PM fireworks show choreographed to salsa music will light up the sky over the majestic Falls, adding a unique sensory experience.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Niagara Falls, the festival will take over the Niagara River Parkway. This landmark event marks the beginning of an exciting new annual tradition that blends the energy and passion of Latin culture with one of Canada's most celebrated tourism destinations.
As the newest stop in the Canadian Salsa Festivals Project tour, Salsa at Niagara Falls builds on more than two decades of the CSFP bringing communities together from across Ontario, Canada, and around the world through music, dance, food, and cultural celebration. The project's mandate is to develop, produce, and present ethno-culturally relevant heritage-based works that elevate public appreciation and participation in Canada's multicultural traditions. The CSFP is a federally incorporated not-for-profit entity and the main organizer of the annual TD Salsa in Toronto Festival, Canada's largest celebration of Latin arts, music, and culture.
