Scarefest Scream Park, a family-owned 50-acre Halloween park in Lenox Township, Michigan, is entering its 20th anniversary season, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Michigan's autumn landscape. Founded in 2006, the park has grown into a significant local employer and community partner, hiring hundreds of residents and supporting local charities in Macomb County.
The milestone season features the park's signature blend of fear and fun, with nightly stage entertainment, Halloween movies, roaming ghouls, photo ops, bonfires, and a heated bar tent. A virtual queue system allows guests to enjoy these amenities while waiting for attractions. The park's 'Four Pillars of Fear' include the Castle of the Dead, an 8,000-square-foot haunted house; the Hayride of Doom, a family-friendly narrated ride; the Forest of Darkness, a haunted walk along the Salt River; and the Terror Zone Maze, a dark maze with twists, strobes, and 3D effects.
Before the regular October season, Scarefest is hosting two exclusive September special events for adults 21+. 'Ghouls Night Out' (Sept. 18-19) offers a unique twist on 'girls night out' with a 'Sip & Shop' local artisan vendor show, wine tastings, mixology demonstrations, crafts, and Zumba. 'BBQ, Bourbon & Boos' (Sept. 25-26) combines live music, local bourbon and whiskey tastings, and barbecue food selections.
Scarefest Scream Park has been a multi-year winner of 'Best Haunted Attraction' in Metro Detroit from Vote4TheBest, and its 20th anniversary underscores its longevity and popularity. The park's economic and social impact on the region is substantial, as it continues to draw visitors from across the state and beyond. The special events and attractions are designed to appeal to a broad audience, from families to thrill-seekers, ensuring the park remains a key player in Michigan's seasonal entertainment scene.
