The company originally built its site on WordPress over eight years ago, following a common path for many businesses that value its ease of use and extensibility. However, as the site scaled, WordPress became increasingly difficult to maintain. Each new page template, plugin, or theme customization added layers of complexity, a pattern typical for fast-growing companies on a platform designed for a smaller footprint. With AI search and agentic browsers reshaping how users and machines discover and interact with websites, Search Atlas determined that speed and performance are now paramount. WordPress's plugin-and-theme architecture, while flexible, often works against this goal because each plugin adds code that browsers must load and increases the potential for failures.
