SFC Energy Raises 2026 Earnings Guidance After Strong Nine-Month Performance

SFC Energy AG, a Germany-based international technology leader in hybrid energy supplies for security, defense, industry and critical infrastructure, has again raised its earnings guidance for the 2026 financial year after reporting preliminary nine-month results that showed a sharp improvement in profitability. The announcement matters because it signals that the company's strategic focus on security-critical applications and resilient power supply is translating into faster earnings growth than management had previously expected, and because it shows how demand linked to modern warfare is reshaping the company's product mix.

According to the preliminary figures, Group sales rose to EUR 132.8 million in the first nine months of 2026, up from EUR 102.7 million in the prior-year period. Adjusted EBITDA climbed to EUR 33.7 million from EUR 10.8 million, already close to the upper end of the previous full-year guidance of EUR 34.0 million. Adjusted EBIT reached EUR 25.7 million, compared with EUR 5.0 million a year earlier, and already exceeded the previous full-year upper guidance of EUR 25.5 million after only nine months. The company, whose shares trade under the ticker F3C:DE, attributed the strong earnings performance primarily to the significant expansion of its defense business, in particular in Ukraine, and the resulting improvement in the product mix.

Additional positive effects came from a higher gross margin in the European business of the Clean Power Management segment, lower expenses to date for an ERP project, and lower-than-expected logistics and handling costs for the Ukraine order. Part of the ERP expenses has now been shifted to the fourth quarter. CEO Dr. Peter Podesser said the development underlines the scalability of the business model, with dynamic growth and an increasingly higher-margin product mix driving a disproportionate increase in operating earnings power. He noted that modern warfare generates fast-growing demand for electrical energy in the field, and that the company's fuel cell solutions guarantee reliable, mobile and virtually undetectable power supply, enabling longer mission durations, reduced logistics effort and enhanced safety for users.

Based on the preliminary figures, the Management Board raised its 2026 earnings guidance. SFC Energy now expects adjusted EBITDA of between EUR 36.0 million and EUR 38.0 million, up from the previous range of EUR 31.5 million to EUR 34.0 million. For adjusted EBIT, the company now expects EUR 25.5 million to EUR 27.5 million, compared with the previous range of EUR 21.5 million to EUR 25.5 million. Group sales guidance remains unchanged at EUR 166.0 million to EUR 175.0 million. For the fourth quarter, the Management Board expects the product mix to be shaped significantly by civilian products after the timely delivery of the first Ukraine programme at the end of the third quarter, resulting in a relatively lower earnings contribution compared with the two preceding quarters, along with higher planned ERP expenses and additional investments in business development activities in Ukraine.
