SS Innovations Demonstrates Transcontinental Robotic Telesurgery at Global Medical Conferences

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) announced that its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system and SSi MantrAsana tele-surgeon console were used in successful telesurgeries at two international medical conferences in October 2026, demonstrating the feasibility of remote robotic surgery across vast distances. The procedures signal a step toward making specialized surgical expertise available in underserved regions, where access to experienced surgeons is often limited.

At the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, Chairman and CEO Dr. Sudhir Srivastava performed a robotic-assisted cardiac procedure remotely on a patient in Bengaluru, India, approximately 7,500 miles away. The transcontinental operation underscored the SSi MantrAsana console’s design for real-time remote surgery through ultra-low latency connectivity, high-definition visualization and precise instrument control. Separately, at the Society of Robotic Surgery India Conference in New Delhi, four surgeons completed four robotic-assisted telesurgeries covering kidney, colorectal, pediatric urological and gynecological procedures. As of October 23, 2026, a total of 205 telesurgeries, including complex cardiac procedures, had been performed using the SSi Mantra system, according to the company.

The implications of these demonstrations extend beyond technical novelty. By enabling surgeons to operate on patients thousands of miles away, the technology could help address geographic disparities in surgical care, allowing expertise to be delivered where it is scarce without the need for travel. The SSi Mantra system, which has been clinically validated in India in more than 190 different types of surgical procedures, includes modular robotic arms, an open-faced ergonomic surgeon command center, a large 3D 4K monitor and compatibility with over 40 types of robotic endo-surgical instruments, including 5mm instruments for pediatric and ENT surgeries. The optional SSi MantrAsana console is a portable, compact alternative to the standard command center, intended to provide equivalent control functionality while enabling enhanced portability and telesurgery capability.

SS Innovations, headquartered in India and a U.S. company, focuses on expanding the global presence of cost-effective surgical robotic solutions.
