ST Telemedia Global Data Centres Surpasses 2028 Carbon Intensity Target Three Years Early

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) today published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, announcing it has surpassed its 2028 carbon intensity reduction target three years ahead of schedule. The Singapore-headquartered data centre provider achieved a 70.5% reduction in carbon intensity from its 2021 baseline, exceeding its goal of 68% by 2028. Renewable energy usage reached 83.2%, supporting the company's transition towards carbon-neutral operations by 2030.

The report, available at STT GDC ESG Progress, details how the company is meeting accelerating demand from AI-driven workloads through infrastructure that is more resilient, efficient, and sustainable. Key achievements include a 41.2% improvement in water usage effectiveness (WUE) from the 2020 baseline and an average power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.44, a 13.0% improvement from 2020. Additionally, 48% of its data centres have achieved green building certification.

Bruno Lopez, President and Group Chief Executive Officer, stated that responsible scaling is a commercial and operational imperative. The company's approach integrates ESG considerations into capital allocation, site selection, design, and operations. In 2025, STT GDC maintained zero work-related fatalities and a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 0.1 across more than 41 million hours worked. The company also provided an average of 18 training hours per employee and achieved 21.7% women representation across the group.

STT GDC strengthened governance with 100% of employees completing anti-corruption training and enhanced enterprise-wide risk management incorporating climate, cybersecurity, and operational risks. The company also advanced supply chain governance by embedding ESG criteria into procurement processes.

As data centre operators face growing expectations to deliver capacity while managing energy, water, climate, and cybersecurity risks, STT GDC's 2025 ESG report reflects disciplined execution of a long-term strategy. The company aims to support the next phase of digital growth, including AI-driven workloads, in a responsible and sustainable way by working closely with customers, partners, and communities.
