STEICO SE Reports Mixed First Half 2026 Results Amid Cost Pressures from Geopolitical Conflicts

STEICO SE (ISIN DE000A0LR936) released its half-year report for 2026 on July 20, showing a slight revenue increase but significant profit declines due to geopolitical tensions. The company, a global leader in wood fiber insulation materials, reported turnover of EUR 200.3 million for the first six months, up 0.6% from EUR 199.1 million in the same period last year. This growth was driven by a strong second quarter as the construction season began, offsetting a weaker first quarter.

However, STEICO faced massive cost increases in the second quarter as a result of the US-Iran conflict and related supply chain disruptions. These costs have continued to rise, with no signs of sustained easing. Although the company implemented price increases to offset these pressures, the effects are delayed, heavily impacting margins. EBITDA fell 22.1% to EUR 29.0 million (previous year: EUR 37.2 million), while EBIT dropped 30.8% to EUR 14.7 million (previous year: EUR 21.2 million), resulting in an EBIT margin of 7.5%.

Despite these challenges, the Executive Board expects further growth in the second half of 2026 and continued improvement in profit margins. Management has confirmed its full-year forecast, anticipating revenue growth of -2% to +4% compared to the previous year, corresponding to EUR 375 million to EUR 398 million. EBIT is projected to be between EUR 30 million and EUR 38 million, implying an EBIT margin of 8.0% to 9.5%, provided the economic outlook does not deteriorate further.
