The legal team at BenGlassLaw has announced that Sydney Lojek is the recipient of the 2026 BenGlassLaw Referee and Umpire Leadership Scholarship. This $2,500 award supports Lojek as she prepares for her upcoming year at Northwestern University.
The scholarship recognizes students with referee experience who have applied that experience in innovative ways within professional environments. Lojek stepped up to address a local soccer referee shortage, developing mentorship and leadership skills that have made a significant impact in her community. Her dedication and community service resonated with the BenGlassLaw team, underscoring the firm's belief that commitment to community and young athletes can shape a young person's professional trajectory.
Lojek plans to continue officiating throughout her college career. She has already researched youth soccer leagues in Evanston, Illinois, and is eager to help a new generation of athletes build confidence on the field. Balancing her time between community service and academic pursuits, Lojek is currently undecided on her major but is exploring interests in economics, legal studies, and Northwestern's pre-medical track.
Reflecting on her commitment, Lojek stated, "Refereeing has been such a huge part of my life that I cannot imagine simply stopping when I go to college." Her passion for the sport and her desire to serve others are evident in her achievements and future plans.

The scholarship is an extension of his dedication to supporting the next generation of officials.
